Introduction: Infected and unpasteurized dairy is one of the most important way to transfer zoonosis disease like Malta fever. In order to prevent this disease milk and dairy products should be pasteurized. The purpose of this study is to survey the awareness, attitude and people’s function about milk and dairy products consumption in Ardabil.
Materials & Methods: This study is descriptive and 300 persons who came to health centers of Ardabil were participated and sampling was randomized. Data collecting method was questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS software, Chi squared test, Kruskal-Wallis, Fisher exact test and Pearson correlation coefficient.
Results: The relation between participants awareness level about milk mediated transmitted diseases and educational level and the job, milk storing time and its type, the way of consumption the bought milk and participant’s education level were meaningful, but the relation between average income level and amount of milk purchase amount disease transmission probability from dairy products, the used ware for boiling and storing milk, the boiling time and educational level, Awareness about benefits of milk types and the way of consumption it and participant’s job were not meaningful.
Conclusion: Common way for milk consumption among Ardabil families was drinking and its amount is lower than the recommended amount. The most important effective factors in milk consumption were educational level and job. It seems designing and perform of some policies and functional programs in order to increase the milk consumption and culturizing in society should be considered.
